It is important that as you start teaching and using computers in the classroom or requiring papers or projects that need the Internet that you give your students the cyber safety skills that they need.

Use a tool like Yahoo or Google to find online helps you can use to help your young learners with online safety skills. By simply putting into the search engine the topic you are looking for, you will get back lots of Internet places that are readily available in a matter of seconds.

A great online resource to start with is Internet Safety Day. YouTube is also a very useful website to use. It is more than just a place for fun or silly videos, but there are videos that can give your young learners cyber safety skills. You can type in a wide variety of key words in the search area of the site.

Some great videos to get you started include, Everyone Knows Sarah, Virtual Global Taskforce, Kitchen-Cyber bullying, Talent Show, The Cyber Bullying Prevention Commercial, and Internet Safety.

Make sure you preview these videos before using them with your students to make sure they are age appropriate for your students. Slideshare is always an outstanding resource to use. The documents on this site are usually in PowerPoint format that another parents or teacher has assembled.

You can sign on for a free account and have immediately get access to no cost resources that will make cyber safety skills lessons fun. You can also try the Google File type Command if you need more than what you find on Slideshare.

Not only are there lots of PowerPoint documents on this resource, but you have access to other documents made on various formats of programs. This includes Excel, PDFs, MacWrite, Microsoft Word, Works, Rich Text Format and Shockwave Flash.
