Giving your kids medicine can be a chore, if you mix it with jelly or honey, they will tolerate taking it better. Orange juice cuts the taste of the medicine quite nicely, but you can just add some sugar to it as an alternative. Eye drops can be a challenge. Have the child close the eye and put the drops in the corner of the eye or on the eyelid. As soon as the child opens the eye, the medicine will drop right into the eye.

Comfort items can make traveling with younger children or toddlers much easier. Vacations are meant to be fun, relaxing times for everyone in the family, but with a young child it can be difficult because their routine is disrupted. To keep your child as happy as they can be in a new place, have a favorite toy or their blanket handy. It will help them feel comfort when they need it.

Put more emphasis on telling your kids what they can and should do, rather than focusing on what they should not or cannot do. Children have a natural drive to push the limits, so telling them "no" can actually make them more determined. Focusing on what your children are able to do will make their restrictions seem less like a punishment.

Give a young child specific places where his or her belongings should go in order to encourage a tendency towards neatness. Without teaching your child a little something about organization, you could wind up with toys, books, and utensils scattered everywhere. Set a good example by putting your own things away and showing your child where things belong. Then he will be able to clean up properly after playtime.

These tips will help you to be a successful parent. Remember that parenthood is different from one family to another. There is no single "right way" to do each thing. Try some of the great ideas above to see what is right for you. Parenting is a very enriching experience, enjoy every moment because they go by fast.
