What's so important about Failure?

Failure Is an Option

Failure Is an Option

Indeed, there are many stories to tell. One student took several courses and flunked. One entrepreneur made a huge investments and later realized that the company is a scam. One basketball player risked the last minute by attempting to shoot the ball for 3points and missed. One company utilized a new software which unfortunately deleted the company's valuable files. One woman undergone surgery and had breast implants which later caused breast cancers on her part. Lastly, one doctor deviated from the usual medical procedure and took the alternate route which caused the death of his patient.

Charge to Experience

Indeed, many failures are experienced in our lives and the effect could be extremely unpleasant. I do have a share of my experience and you might have yours too. As the saying goes 'experience is the best teacher', many people believe it's the other way around. Experience, in fact, can be the worst teacher since it takes the test first prior to you learning the lesson. Often, when people around us try to comfort us telling us that we shouldn't be too hard on ourselves, we say "sure", yet we are doing otherwise. We are becoming too hard on ourselves because failure is something that wouldn't leave your mind quickly. Failure is something that can make you regret spending money, time, and effort but all went down the drain. And in some worst case, it can be a great loss of something so valuable.

When All Else Fails, Listen To the Captain

"There was once two prison men sat behind the bars. One saw mud while the other saw stars." In this story, those two prison men are now paying the costs of their actions. However, as they contemplate on their situation, the other prisoner was completely devoured by his depression. There is the feeling of 'giving up' for he sees no light in his future. But the other prisoner has held his head up with his hopes and dreams. As you may well notice, failure happens. Not to mention that it happens when you least expect it. However, true failure comes in when you react negatively to the situation. True failure is about giving up completely. It is about being unable to recognize that if you look at the midnight skies, the stars are still shining. See, no matter how disheartening and discouraging your fall was true failure is about not getting up and not moving on. You must perceive failure as a great opportunity for you to learn. You will also be able to learn from the failures of other people. But it is your own failure that will help you meaningfully. So embrace them for the reason that it will lead you to your success.
