If you are anything like me, you are freaking out about leaving for your first year of college. I am sure you went through your whole entire high school career dreaming of the moment when you would finally get to leave for college because that meant freedom, but now that it is here, you might be getting a little nervous. In this article, you are going to learn a few different tips and tricks that will help you adjust to living the college life.
1-Go to the orientation week
If you are going to a college that has some kind of orientation week, it is important you go there. I know a lot of you out there might think this is a bit lame and you really don't want to go, but the truth is this is where you will meet the majority of your friends. Going to the orientation week will give you a chance to meet new friends before school even starts.
2-Join a club or become on athlete
Once you start to get use to school, you should think about either joining some kind of sports team or joining some kind of club. This will give you something to do instead of just sitting in your dorm all day. If you do not want to join a sports team and can't find the club you want to join, then you might want to think about starting one.
3-Know that your family loves you
I am sure you already know that one of the toughest things about going away to college is leaving your family behind. During the first semester at college, you will begin to realize how much they really meant to you and you will probably miss them a lot. Whenever this happens, just write them a letter and send it to them in the mail. This will give you hope to check to mail box every day waiting for a letter.
