1. Hollywood - A Hollywood theme party can be further broken into smaller themes. A favourite movie, an actor or perhaps an oscar night? Your friends will appreciate the opportunity to dress up as glamorous as possible and this theme is easy to throw as many of the props needed, most people already have!

2. Toga - Due to it's ease in setting up, a Toga party is a college favourite. Originating in ancient Greece amongst high society, it was an opportunity for fun and sexual activity. A toga is easy to make, in essence it's just a bed sheet. Wear sandals too and you have a complete outfit.

3. Mexican - Get some Mexican flags for your venue. Red, white and green balloons for the 3 flag colors. Send your invitations out on mini Mexican sombreros. Cacti are very cheap and easy to maintain after the party. Also you could get a giant inflatable cactus.

4. James Bond - This is an opportunity for the ladies to dress up as glamorous as possible, they will thank you for the opportunity. The guys, choose your favourite Bond or Bond villain; Jaws, Oddjob or Blotheld!

5. Hawaiian - This theme should centre around a surf shack. Ideally this is where your guests would make their own cocktails like the Aloha or the Hawaiian Heartbreaker. Scatter sea shells and coconuts around the place. The food should be plenty of fruit on skewers, allow your guests to skewer their own from the bowls provided.

6. French - Draw on a thin moustache for this theme and play French cafe music. Drink fancy wine and eat cheese on French loaf. The costumes will be hilarious with many people looking very similar. Don't forget the onion necklace!
